Wires and Cables

The growth factors of wire and cable market are the increase of world population, expanding of cities, development of infrastructure, needs of electricity usage at home and in business sectors.

Moreover, the factors are including the increase of investment of smart rigid network and the fast development of cable technology. Southeast Asia market has oppotunity in expansion from relevant factors such as household needs including investment from business sectors and government and also environmental concerns.

FAQ

  1. Q : Temperature of polymer melt too low

    A :
    1. Increase extruder temperature profile
    2. Increase die temperature

  2. Q : Poor polymer melt quality

    A :
    1. Adjust temperature profile
    2. Adjust screw speed
    3. Use finer screen pack

  3. Q : Small bubbles in the surface, due to Excessive moisture in the raw material.

    A :
    1. Use materials from sealed, undamaged containers
    2. Pre-dry materials before use in dehumidified tray oven
    3. Use hopper-dryer

  4. Q : Cavities due to air bubbles insulating the cable from water in the cooling bath.

A : Remove bubbles from cable surface by stirring water or passing through a rubber shield wiping them off.

  5. Q : Poor die design

A : Decrease die land length / increase drawdown

  6. Q : Die misalignment

A : Align the face of die

  7. Q : Heater(s)/Controls not working properly

A : Check thermocouples and heater bands

  8. Q : Surging

    A :
    - Check drive performance or check unitmechanical/electrical
    - Use screw with longer feed or metering section
    - Decrease extrusion rate or die temperature
    - Use more restrictive screen pack to increase back pressure

  1. Q : Temperature of Polymer Melt too low

    A :
    1. Increase extruder temperature profile
    2. Increase die temperature

  2. Q : Clogged screen packs

    A :
    1. Clean screen pack
    2. Replace if necessary

  3. Q : Heater(s)/Controls not working properly

A : check thermocouples and heater bands

  1. Q : Incorrect temperature profile

    A : Reduce temperature profile

  2. Q : Die Design

    A : Decrease die land

  3. Q : Screen pack clogged

    A : Change screens/determine source of dogging

  4. Q : Screen pack too fine

A : Use coarser screens or reduce number

  1. Q : Conductor too cold

    A : Preheat conductor

  2. Q : Too rapid cooling

A : Use hot water in cooling trough as per recommendations

  1. Q : Excessive moisture in materials

    A :
    1. Use materials from sealed, undamaged containers
    2. Pre-dry materials before use in dehumidified tray oven
    3. Use hopper-dryer

  2. Q : High polymer melt temperature

    A : Verify/reduce temperature profile

  3. Q : Old raw materials

    A : Verify production date

  4. Q : Excessive residence time

A : Increase screw RPM/check for bridging in feed section

  5. Q : Scorched material

A : Inspect / clean tooling and extruder
