Amendment to Standards for Stretch Film Food Wrap Products
The Cabinet resolved to approve in principle the draft Ministerial Regulation prescribing that the industrial product stretch film food wrap must comply with standards, B.E. 2542 (1999)
As proposed by the Ministry of Industry (MOI), and to forward it to the Office of the Council of State for consideration, then proceed accordingly. The MOI proposed that:
1. According to the Royal Decree prescribing that the industrial product stretch film food wrap must comply with standards, B.E. 2542 (1999), announced and enforced since November 10, 1999, which prescribes that the industrial product stretch film food wrap must comply with Thai Industrial Standard No. TIS 1136-2536 (1993).
1. Subsequently, the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI) considered and found that the industrial product standard for stretch film food wrap under the Royal Decree in Item 1 should be amended to align with current academic and technological production advancements, to promote the domestic stretch film food wrap industrial product manufacturing industry to be a safe product for consumers with quality, as well as to align with the current industrial conditions.
Key Points of the Draft Ministerial Regulation
Prescribes that the industrial product stretch film food wrap must comply with Thai Industrial Standard No. TIS 1136-2559 (2016) according to Ministry of Industry Notification No. 5508 (B.E. 2562/2019) issued under the Industrial Product Standards Act, B.E. 2511 (1968), regarding the Revocation and Prescription of Industrial Product Standards for Stretch Film Food Wrap, announced on September 30, 2019, to take effect one hundred and eighty days from the date of publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Plastic Waste Management Action Plan Phase 1 (2020-2022)

The Cabinet resolved to approve the proposal submitted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) as follows:
1. Approved the (Draft) Plastic Waste Management Action Plan Phase 1 (2020-2022) [(Draft) Action Plan] to drive operations in preventing and solving plastic waste problems that have environmental impacts requiring urgent action, under the Plastic Waste Management Roadmap 2018-2030.
2. Assigned relevant agencies to implement operations according to the (Draft) Action Plan.

GC Obtain MiT Mark (Made in Thailand)

The MiT (Made in Thailand) symbol is a trademark of the “Federation of Thai Industries” used to certify products manufactured in Thailand. In addition to being used as a privilege when offering products for sale to the government sector, it also represents pride and confidence for Thai product manufacturers, such as PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC) and its group companies, including GC Polyols Company Limited (GCP) and Thai PET Resin Company Limited (TPRC), which use the MiT symbol to create consumer awareness and elevate products to gain greater credibility at the international level.
GCP applied for product certification for Polyether Polyol (PGG) chemical product, manufactured by GC under the Genix trademark, and received certification on April 29, 2021.
TPRC applied for product certification for Polyethylene Terephthalate Resin (PET) plastic resin pellets, manufactured by GC under the InnoPlus trademark, and received certification on June 1, 2021.
GC applied for product certification for Polyethylene (PE) plastic resin pellets, manufactured by GC under the InnoPlus and PlastMate trademarks, covering all 6 groups: High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), High-Density Polyethylene Compound (HDPE COMPOUND), Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE), Metallocene Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (mLLDPE), and Linear Low-Density Polyethylene Powder (LLDPE Powder), which received certification on August 30, 2021.

Certification for products manufactured in Thailand (Made in Thailand) issued by the Federation of Thai Industries (in accordance with the Royal Decree)
Through the advocacy of the Federation of Thai Industries to spark pride and confidence in Thai products, and to encourage government agencies, the private sector, and the public to increasingly support products manufactured in Thailand, as well as to build confidence among foreign trading partners. This led to a Cabinet resolution approving the amendment to the Ministerial Regulation specifying goods and procurement methods that the government wishes to promote or support (No. 2) dated December 8, 2020 (as announced in the Royal Gazette on December 22, 2020).

Masterbatch Carrier
